We are currently making progress in reaching the groundtruth with using different thresholding techniques. As depicted above, our Otsu Global Threshold produced the best quality blood vessel extraction image. There is still an abundance of background noise in the image that we still have to remove, but our progress shows we are making strides in finishing the blood vessel detection function. In the upcoming weeks, we will move further with Otsu Global Threshold by looking more into improvements we can make to obtain an image that detects and extracts the blood vessels the best.
