Throughout this week, the team reinvestigated a research article we studied in the past weeks, “A novel method for blood vessel detection from retinal images”. Within the next week, we plan to reproduce the algorithm or improve it. The article points out some key points in implementing the algorithm but doesn’t give us specific steps. So, it is up to us to recreate the algorithm ourselves and the next task we have is understanding why the green channel of a retinal image is the best one to use, then using that channel to detect the blood vessels.
